the word beardo can also be used to refer to a specific type of folk or bluegrass fan from the appalachian region of kentucky called whispering beard mountain.
if you are interested in becoming a genuine beardo you might consider attending the annual whispering beards folk festival which invites TREE HUGGERS and city slickers and hippies and just plain folk to come gather at the event and leave as a beardo. and by the way it mentions on their website that this term is not restricted to men only!
