last night @cgreathouse and i attended an art show on MELROSE AVENUE. when we pulled up into our beautiful parking spot i quickly realized that we were going to where the hearse was parked out front...
it turned out to be a really unique and interesting group exhibition that was hosted by the congregation gallery and black market art company and forgoten saints etc at PREACHERS & FOOLS TATTOO STUDIO.
the 30-artist collective displayed printed coffin lids which varied in size and price range starting at $950. my favorite piece in the show was tarjeta de muerta (below) by the artist HEK.
@hektatoo is also a really dope tattoo artist whose work i have admired on friends. i also really liked jake underwood's carpe diem and devils reign by adam padilla. and until death by whitney lenox which was the bright red portrait of the woman hanging in the entrance to the gallery.
for more information on these artists or the exhibition please contact preachers and fools tattoo studio at 7569 melrose avenue hollywood california 90046 or call the gallery at (323) 655-0589.
