CADALACK RON grew up in L.A. listening to gangster rap like NWA and 2-LIVE CREW and launched his career in hip-hop at the age of 8-years old when he started writing diss songs about wanabee gangstas in elementary school.
by the time @CADALACKRON hit he teens he was listening to LIQUID SWORDS and freestyling and rocking shows all over the SUNSET STRIP with some of the citys best known rappers like THA ALKAHOLIKS and @ACEYALLONE. he performed at the whiskey and the roxy and the viper room . . .
ron went on to college and hosted a radio show in portland oregon which showcased new weekly hip-hop material. during this time @cadalackron also descended into the world of BLACK TAR HEROIN and did not emerge back into hip-hop until 2006 when he hit the scene tough with his debut album entitled BLACK TAR RAP STAR.
although pay-to-play venues and radio stations have dominated the scene @cadalackron has stayed on the undergrind. in 2007 ron signed to a small indie label called BLUNT BOOGIE RECORDS and was featured on their 1st-release called up from the desert. later that year he released an album called DEAD AT 27 which featured existereo and open mike eagle and serp on his own label SYRINGE SYNDICATE.
@cadalackron has toured the united states 4-times and had been recording steadily in order to accumulate a catalog of songs so deep that he never has to play the same show twice!
recently @cadalackron released a new album entitled LAST KNOWN PHOTOGRAPH OF ROBERT PAULSON which is exclusively available on itunes. many of the beats and rhymes on the album pay homage to the OG's that influenced the artist over the years.
last known photograph features some of ellays best unground hip-hop emcees and producers. ron continues to push the creative envelope with his tongue in cheek flavor on tracks like HOLLYWOOD HIGH and next level and gentrification. i also really like the song entitled LIFE LESSONS in which @cadalackron drops some legit science and breaks it down.
in short this album sounds like L.A. HIP-HOP never died.
definitely you will want to cop this one on itunes for a grand total of $9.99 and be on the lookout for the SPACE CADALACK EP collaboration which will be out in late 2009 along with the new ARCH DRUIDS album on blunt boogie records.
until then you can find @cadalackron making the rounds in the cali circuit battling in GRIND TIME or THE BAR EXAM and you can also follow him on TWITTER and other social networking sites.
