the groups name is based on a novella by STEPHEN KING which was published in 1978. the premise of the story is that a young couple wanders into a mid western town where all the adults have been murdered by children who participate in cult worships out in the corn fields. children of the corn was adapted into a movie in 1984 and recently this year has been remade again into a horror based television show which is currently in post production.
the hardcore rap group released over 30-songs together and primarily sold mixtapes out of their trunks together in NEW YORK and although they tried for a record deal and came very close it never actually happened. ma$e and cam left the crew to pursue basketball careers. bloodshed was killed in car accident out in harlem in 1997 and BIG L was murdered in 1999.
cam'ron and ma$e created a duo called KILLA CAM & MURDA MASE aka double k double m however no albums were ever released due to ma$e's huge success. ma$e ended up getting with @iamdiddy and became a part of BAD BOY RECORDS in 1996.
cam'ron went through college and released his first solo album called CONFESSIONS OF FIRE in 1998. he later formed a new harlem hip-hop crew around 2000 called THE DIPLOMATS aka dipset which officially include jim jones and juelz santana and jr writer and 40-cal and freekey zekey and hell rell.
ma$e and jim jones reportedly had an ongoing dispute however it was recently squashed over the new york radio airwaves when jimmy made a public apology to ma$e for disrespecting him. about a week later double k double m put out a new song called GET IT which is super dope fixology for anyone like me who still loves that harlem sound.
plus we think there might be more tracks from this dynamic duo in our near future and possibly even a collaborative album. SCHWING !!
