HOW LONG WILL THEY MOURN ME?

RT @tupac. how long will they mourn me, thug life volume one. 1994.

in judaism the 30-day period after a burial is known as SHLOSHIM. during this time mourners do not attend parties or celebrations. they do not shave or cut their hair and they do not listen to music. when visiting a mourner a guest should not offer shallow platitudes but rather allow the mourner to initiate conversations and fully express his or her grief. this is the purpose of the mourning period in judaism! when leaving a house of mourning it is traditional for a guest to say:

"may the LORD comfort you will all the mourners of ZION and JERUSALEM"

here are a few more pictures from the michael jackson memorial service today. my heart goes out to his children and to the whole jackson family.
