A TRIBUTE TO JOHN HUGHES

JOHN HUGHES JUNIOR was an american film director and producer and writer who was responsible for some of the most successful comedies of the 1980s and 1990s. he died today of a heart attack today at age-59 in manhattan new york while visiting family. hughes was a cult classic hero and will be greatly missed for his unique talent for writing about the teenager within all of us. best known for FERRIS BUELLERS DAY OFF and national lampoons vacation and planes trains and automobiles as well as THE BREAKFAST CLUB and HOME ALONE. plus SIXTEEN CANDLES and PRETTY IN PINK and of course WEIRD SCIENCE and uncle buck !!


john hughes frequently cast actors whom he had worked with on previous movies. for example he cast the late JOHN CANDY in at least 8-different projects. he also recycled molly ringwald and ANTHONY MICHAEL HALL and john kapelos and ALLY SHEEDY and larry hankin and john ashton and william windon and MACAULAY CULKIN and james belushi and some others who appeared in numerous films by hughes.
