apparently this is a personal growth year for AI3 after dip he took in offense in 2009 and the rumors circulating that he was possibly ready for retirement. however the 34-year old guard has not lost his step and heads aint ready yall.
at his introductory news conference AI3 had this to say: "this year for me is so personal . . . its basically going to be my rookie season again. it hurts but i turn the tv on i read the paper i listen to some of the things people say about me having the season that i had last year and me losing a step things like that. theyre trying to put me in a rocking chair already."
the grizzlies franchise has had only one all star in its history which was gasol in 2006 so IVERSON is by far the biggest name to ever stretch across their jersey. the 13-year veteran of the game was welcomed home to the FEDEX FORUM with a standing ovation and hundreds of fans chanting AI-AI-AI. the team mascot called grizz was there as well as the cheerleaders and even the drum corps.
