PIT BOSS is a new docu soap slash reality television series set to debut january 16th on ANIMAL PLANET at 10pm. its about my new friend @SHORTYROSSI who is a "little person" with a big heart and has turned his life to rescuing neglected pit bull dogs in LOS ANGELES.
LUIGI FRANCIS ROSSI better known as SHORTY. shorty got his first pit in 1983 when he was a teenager and gang leader living in the projects of WATTS CALIFORNIA. he wanted a dog but unlike his friends who used pit bulls for breeding and fighting shorty wanted a companion. "i always liked them because the pit bull was short and stocky and didnt take no for an answer like me" said @shortyrossi. at age-14 his passion for pits began and today he is the proud daddy of 5-pitbull dogs of his own all rescued from different parts of THE UNITED STATES. they are named geisha and bebi and dominico and musellini and HERCULES is his top dog!
@SHORTYROSSI runs two operations the first is SHORTYWOOD PRODUCTIONS a talent management company in hollywood for little people actors. and yes ya big jerk im talking about midgets and dwarves but dont you dare call them that!! they prefer the much friendlier term LITTLE PEOPLE. the second operation he runs is SHORTY'S PIT BULL RESCUE which is an organization of pitbull owners and rescuers and supports that shorty founded in VENICE BEACH in 2001. through positive pit bull involvement in the community with nursing homes and schools and hospitals etc shortys pitbull rescue influences the positive reputation for the breed.
in his new show @SHORTYROSSI finds loving homes for the misplaced underdogs with the help of his friends ronald and sebastian and ashley who are also little people. together they tackle the mission of rescuing dogs in need and raising awareness about the highly misunderstood pit bull breed while fighting to overcome stereotypes for themselves as well. PIT BOSS reveals both little people and pit bulls in a whole new light we have never seen before!! and unlike some of the little people shows on tv pit boss is not a freak show or spectacle rather it shows real animal lovers caring for their furry friends-- who knew that 2010 would be the break through year for little people television shows?
