ART MARKET 2010



Auction sales have been up 46% and private sales have increased 37% this year at Christie's worldwide. Buyers are particularly interested in Post-War & Contemporary and Asian art which both saw over 100% increases this year. The top-4 art sales are: "Nude, Green Leaves and Bust" by Pablo Picasso, 1932 which sold for $106,482,500.00 on May 10th at Christie's New York. "Grand Tete Mince" by Alberto Giacometti, 1954 sold for $53,282,500 on May 10th in New York. "Tete de Caryatide" by Amedeo Modigliani, 1911-12 sold for $52,620,923 on June 10th in Paris. And "Portrait d'Andel Fernandez de Soto" by Pablo Picasso which sold for $51,585,695 on June 10th in London.
