Wahlberg began his career in the late 1980s with New Kids on the Block and then quit to form Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch. He modeled for Calvin Klein underwear then turned to acting and gained recognition for his breakthrough role in 1997 as Dirk Diggler in the movie Boogie Nights.
