Some french diamond earrings went for $135K and vintage steel Rolex Moon Phase watches sold for over $67K topping their estimates, and a 1917 Steinway grand piano went for $42K which was six times the minimum estimate.
The Manhattan sale is the last auction in New York of Madoff belongings. Last year's New York auction of Madoff's property raised $1-million. The Manhattan penthouse went for $8-million and his yacht and boats were also sold. A third and final auction will be held in Florida to sell off items from a Palm Beach home that went for more than $5.5 milly last month.
