THE ORIGINATOR: JAZ-O

not to be confused with the california rapper jayo who released his debut album on JAM MASTER JAY RECORDS IN 1995 or collaborated on a diss track towards THA DOGG POUND with former member KURUPT in 2001.

jaz-o is not jayo felony nor is he the same person as JAY-Z so dont get it twisted people. jonathan burks is an east coast emcee and producer better known by his stage name the originator aka big jaz aka the jaz jaz-o or simply jaz for short. he was very active in the new york hip-hop scene in the late 1980s and early 1990s but is best known for being the mentor of jay-z himself. in 1989 the jaz made a song called the originator which featured a young jay-z. many insiders refer to this song as the start of jiggas huge acclaim in the rap industry:

the jaz also produced jiggas hit single entitled AINT NO N_GGA off his debut album REASONABLE DOUBT which was released in june of 1996 on ROC-A-FELLA RECORDS. jaz-o has been featured on some of jays songs too for example n_gga what, n_gga who from the album hard knock life and bring it on off of jays first album. and although jay-z denies taking his name from the jaz this uncanny similarity is widely accepted as a hip-hop truth by connoisseurs everywhere . . .

its really no surprise that the originator and THE GAME have just released a somewhat threatening yet laid back melody called GANGSTAS RIDE. in THIS SONG jaz-o claims he put jay-z in the business. he refers to jigga as his friend turned enemy who stole his whole identity calling him out as "shawn" and putting him on blast. jaz-o also states that he knew BIGGIE SMALLS before he was rapping. and of course the game follows suit with his ongoing jay-z summer beef claiming that hes riding with the worldwide originator jaz-o now and AFTERMATH.
