buying american made maple syrup can save the lives of BABY SEALS in canada. no joke !!
maple syrup is one of canadas major revenue sources and by boycotting canadian maple syrup consumers can help pressure the canadian government to end their annual seal slaughter which over the past 3-years has killed nearly 1-million seal pups for their fur ☹
the canadian seal hunt is the largest commercial slaughter of marine mammals in the world and animal and environment protection organization have negotiated for years with their government to put an end to it. and although the cruelty and kill levels have been escalating canada has made their position very clear that they will only take action against this industry once the economics and politics surrounding this issue change.

this is cruel slaughter and it needs to end! 95% of the harp seals killed over the past 5-years have been under 3-months of age at the time of their slaughter with literally no defense against hunters because the pups had not even taken their first swim yet or eater their first solid food.
an increasing number of restaurants and grocery stores including WHOLE FOODS MARKETS and TRADER JOES have joined THE PROTECT SEALS CAMPAIGN which initially called for boycott in march of 2005.
sealing only accounts for a tiny fraction of the value of canadas fishing industry. out of a population of over 30-million people less than 5-thousand canadians participate in the commercial seal hunt each year and those who do only earn a very small fraction of their annual incomes from sealing.
these sealers are jerks and i hate them and they are going down! for more info on how to boycott sizzurp and sealing check out the PETA website and or the protect seals campaign and get involved in their demise.
