JEFF KOONS the king of kitsch is exhibiting this summer at the serpentine gallery in LONDON. this is koons first major exhibition at a public gallery in england !
for the serpentine gallery show koons presents paintings and sculptures from his POPEYE SERIES which began in 2002 as well as other fabricated works that draw on american consumer culture.
also included in the show are some of jeff koons replica readymade inflatable toys with unaltered everyday objects like chairs for a very interesting and peculiar exhibit. koons signature inflatables began in the 1970s and have become some of the artists most iconic sculptures.
jeff koons was born in york pennsylvania in 1955. his work has been exhibited internationally including recent solo shows in versailles and berlin and chicago. koons lives and works in NEW YORK today.
the sex and banality show will run through september 13th at the serpentine gallery at kensington gardens in london england. the gallery is open daily from 10am to 6pm and admission is free.
